A Few Words on Guilt

Guilt has a great and necessary ally — this great ally is introspection.

While many may say, “we all know the difference between right and wrong”, the greater statement would likely be, “we should pursue introspection in hopes that we can learn the difference between what makes us feel good and what honors and is safe for others”. Allow me to challenge you with this: Truth is relative. Right is relative. Wrong is relative. Knowledge is relative. When we take the time to explore for ourselves separate from our parents, from our religion, from our allegiances and those we choose to trust, we can create a foundational and internal belief system to live by. Guilt happens from the moment we can first disobey and the experience continues throughout the course of our lives, but the process we aren’t talking about developing is a new and fresh foundation of internal honesty, instead we find ways to diminish and dismiss the things that make us feel guilty. This desensitization within a man has fucked up a lot of really great relationships, opportunities, and situations in our life.

Choose introspection to find your inner balance.
Choose integrity to live within your balance.
Choose authenticity to keep yourself from losing your balance.
